Academy of professional studies Sumadija is a state higher education institution established in late 2019 in the city of Kragujevac, Central Serbia, as a result of reform of colleges of vocational studies. Academy Sumadija was created by uniting four technical colleges in four different cities: Kragujevac, Arandjelovac, Trstenik and Krusevac, that were all founded in late 1950s and early 1960s, which makes Academy Sumadija a modern institution with a long tradition in education.

The rationale to found Academy Sumadija was to bring together experts, compare experience and good practice and make more diverse environment for both students and staff. Nowadays, Academy Sumadija offers study programs in the field of technical, technological and natural sciences, as well as social sciences, humanities and art, which makes the environment more interdisciplinary and allows different approaches to research.

One of the goals of Academy Sumadija is to intensify its cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and companies working in Central Serbia, and through continual cooperation adjust its study programs to the needs of labor market.

Academy Sumadija seeks to cooperate with institutions in the region, EU and worldwide. To be a competitive partner, Academy Sumadija offers study programs in line with the European educational standards stated in the Bologna Declaration. To promote good relations with HE and partner institutions worldwide, and to encourage international exchange of students, teaching and non-teaching staff, Academy Sumadija follows the steps of its predecessors and continues the process of harmonization with prominent European HEIs.

Currently, the Academy offers 9 undergraduate and two master study programs for international mobility. At the Department in Kragujevac there are three undergraduate programs: Informatics, Road Traffic Engineering, Industrial Engineering – Mechanical Engineering and one master program Road Traffic Engineering. In Arandjelovac available undergraduate programs are Information Technologies, Management in Tourism and Hospitality, Applied Economy and Entrepreneurship, Food Technology and Gastronomy, Design, and Environmental and Work Protection. In Trstenik there is one master program Information Technologies.
